On start up my Win 98 gets to the blue screen just before the desktop and then a General Protection Fault occurs with MSGSRV32 in module KRNL386.EXE at 0001:00001c20

I close the dialogue box, the screen remains blue but the start up stops and the computer hangs and does not get to the desktop.

I have started it successfully in Safe Mode, have removed all programs that were unnecessary but the problem still exists.

I have a feeling, but am not absolutely sure that the problem started when my son tried to play a multiplayer game with Gedi Knights...but the computer is not connected to the internet!...so I think the computer hung....and the problem has been ever since.

Your help or comments would be greatly appreciated.
