As you can tell from the title, all my downloads automatically try to open instead of download. If anyone has any ideas on how to change that I would REALLY appreciate it. Thanks.

Which browser are you using? If you are using Internet Explorer, whenever the download window pops up when you attempt to install new software, simply choose the 'save as...' option, and choose a location such as My Documents or your desktop to save the file in. If it is Mozilla Firefox, go to Tools, Options then Downloads. Choose the 'Save all files into this folder...' option for convenience, then click OK.

If doing all that doesn't seem to work, then it could be some sneaky piece of malware at work. Go here for instructions on how to clean up your system.
