HI everyone,

please help. :tazz:

Just went to use my cd writer and it has power - opens and shuts, but is not showing up in 'My Computer'.

My second drive has the same problem - but not opening or anything either.

Any one got any ideas? - I have pulled the case off - and yes all plugs are in correctly - I unplugged it and replugged them in.

All help appreciated - thanks

hi,
have you checked the jumper settings for the drives?
are they on the same ide cable?
will the drive that wont open work if you disconnect the other one from the power supply?

could be

A - Jumpers (master/slave)
B - Powersupply
C - IDE cable

it could be any or all of the above along with maybe motherboard hardware or bios settings

good luck
