i can run videos in windows media player in safe mode (which was attempted b accident) but not in normal mode... i'm scared that implies an error in my sound or sumthin, but i'm not sure...

cool edit pro works, windows' default recorder works, and even realplayer works, but not wmp and that sucks... i feel that it may be linked to other problems i'm havin with other programs, but i would like this mystery solved first

any suggestions? i've already defragged, used scandisk, and used everything on that TuneUp program

and if its any help, this problem didnt start occurring until i installed Logitech QuickCam, which i've even tried un installing and reinstallin and it made no difference as though whatever went wrong wasnt a part of the program or drivers

If you don't already have it, there's a free upgrade to Windows Media Player 9 which just might put it right. Make sure you get the right version (Not the top one which is for XP only):
