If I run Spybot, "Adpowerzone" comes up as a problem with eleven locations in both the registry & hard drive. One of which is C:\program files\netmeeting\SS\ServerSide.dll. I found the ServerSide prg i my add/remove programs but removing it is only temp. until I reboot.

Spybot only removes it until next reboot also. Is there a permanent solution?

Welcome to Geeks 2 Go. Sorry about the delay in getting to your post, we have been very busy.

Do you still require help or are your problems resolved.

Please let me know and if you still require assistance, please post a fresh HJT log.

Regards,

Usetobe

I just found the answer myself and posted it but I guess I should tell you also. I tried over and over again to remove the malware manually but it kept coming back every time I rebooted. I removed both Adpowerzone and ServerSide in every place on the drive and in the registry that I could find them but n.g.

Then I noticed a program in the add/remove programs list call simply "OIN" and "remove only" for an option. I removed it and sure enough it was re-installing Adpowerzone every time I rebooted.

This forum has helped me out way more than once and I hope this helps somebody out there that has the same problem.

You guys are great!
