I just recently got this new laptop, Acer 1681 WLCi, and im having troubles with it. I want to install new hardware for my Canon Powershot A85, but it says that it can not find ptpusb.dll, but it's right there in the c:/windows/servicpackfiles/i386!!! When i manually tried to locate the file, it wouldn't show up. Same thing goes for my mass storage hardware. Can someone help me.

that location is the service pack, not the system files in use.

There should also be one in c:\windows\system32--is there?

in device manager, what is beneath usb?

Yes there is one under C:/windows/system32, but once again i tried browsing to that location, but it wouldn't read up the file, it would only read the subfolders that was the system32 folder.

Under the USB there are

Intel® 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller (24C2)
Intel® 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller (24C4)
Intel® 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller (24C7)
Intel® 82801DB/DBM USB2 Universal Host Controller (24CD)
