I am having major problems with my system. When first switching on, the computer will make anything up to 20 abortive attempts to boot up. Initially, it will crash almost immediately the boot up starts. With each successive automatic attempt to reboot, it seems to get a little further until finally after anything up to 20 attempts, it appears to have loaded. Having reached this stage, it will then crash again as soon as any internet connection is attempted. This is followed by several more boot up attempts and eventually I may achieve an internet connection. However, no sooner do I try and visit a website, I will get an error message typically telling me something like "TMProxy.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close". This type of message or something similar to it appears to come up no matter what website I am trying to visit. At times, I do not even need to be connected to the internet. It can do the same thing to me if I am simply working in a word or excel programme without any internet connection. I am at my wits end as I do not understand a great deal about computers and desperately need some professional help to get over this problem. Can you help me please?

In view of the fact that I cannot boot up for any length of time, I have not been able to run the preparation checks that you advise and am in fact sending this plea for help from another computer.

Regards, kbp
