Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Next, open up HiJackThis and click Scan, and check:

Close all open windows except for HijackThis and click Fix Checked.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:

c:\windows\system32\wkgrmc.exe
Exit Explorer, and reboot as normal afterwards.

If you were unable to find any of the files then please follow these additional instructions:

Download Pocket Killbox and unzip it; save it to your Desktop.

Run it, and click the radio button that says Delete a file on reboot. For each of the files you could not delete, paste them one at a time into the full path of file to delete box and click the red circle with a white cross in it.

The program will ask you if you want to reboot; say No each time until the last one has been pasted in whereupon you should answer Yes.

Let the system reboot.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log and we will take another look.

My system is already set to show all files, but I couldn't find it myself to delete it. I downloaded Killbox and it gave a strange error once I told it to reboot; I have attached it. My computer is not a gateway; it was built not bought in the store, but I did find the file located at: c:\pcd32.

Download Pocket Killbox and unzip it; save it to your Desktop.

Run it, and click the radio button that says Delete a file on reboot. For each of the files you could not delete, paste them one at a time into the full path of file to delete box and click the red circle with a white cross in it.

The program will ask you if you want to reboot; say No each time until the last one has been pasted in whereupon you should answer Yes.

Let the system reboot.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log and we will take another look.

Done. Seems to be running better. I'll keep an eye out for Aurora because I don't get actual pop up screens. It just shows a minimized window at the bottom of the screen just briefly when I'm surfing. I haven't seen it today though.

all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following, making sure you get them all and not any others by mistake:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Win Server Updt] C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [vtxjtfw] c:\windows\system32\bunyzcx.exe r
O20 - Winlogon Notify: Setup - C:\WINDOWS\system32\en26l1fs1.dll
O23 - Service: Lexar JD31 (LxrJD31s) - Unknown owner - LxrJD31s.exe (file missing)

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.


Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:

c:\windows\system32\bunyzcx.exe
Exit Explorer, and reboot as normal afterwards.


If you were unable to find any of the files then please follow these additional instructions:

Download Pocket Killbox and unzip it; save it to your Desktop.

Run it, and click the radio button that says Delete a file on reboot. For each of the files you could not delete, paste them one at a time into the full path of file to delete box and click the red circle with a white cross in it.

The program will ask you if you want to reboot; say No each time until the last one has been pasted in whereupon you should answer Yes.

Let the system reboot.
