Recurring error message on start up

For some time now the following error message has been occuring on startup:
"RUNDLL
"error loading p2esocks_1021.dll
"The specified module could not be found"
Can you please tell me how to get rid of this message?

Have you made any changes in your internet service, or downloaded any programs for networking or the internet? That sounds like a "socket", part of an application for networking. You would either need to supply the file or remove the application that is trying to access it.

Hi Tyger, I have reinstalled my adsl modem several times recently to try
to stop it from locking up, but that was several months after the offending
RUNDLL popup started to appear. (the modem still locks up!) I haven't done any networking.
Any further suggestions?? Erinie

I did a little Googling and my result is that this should be asked in the Malware forum, the application that is looking for the file is likely part of some malware.
