Does anyone know what this (Isass.exe) does. Is it a virus or something wrong within XP.

Isass.exe is a file related to a trojan. Notice the difference between Isass.exe and Lsass.exe. Isass.exe (in lower case, isass.exe) is related to a trojan, while Lsass.exe (in lower case, lsass.exe), is a legitimate Windows file. This is a trick to confuse you from removing it.

You should be fine removing it. But, as always, make a backup
Just in case :tazz:

Cheers
