Tried to instal photoshop 6 on the new desktop I just got. It wont do "autorun" and if I manually open the install proggie, the comp hangs wasy up. I finally get the blurb screen, then hit the install button, and the fartheest Ive gotten is the installer proggie loaded, then it locked up.

The comp is an athalon processor, XP home OS, 512 of ram, and lots of hard drive space.

I know the instal disk is ok, because I installed it on another comp running XP pro.
Any ideas??

yeah i think photoshop 7.0, C.S., and now C.S.2 are your only choices on the XP system

Please try shutdown any anti spyware program like Ms AntiSpyware. I have the same issue but was able to successfully install photoshop 6 after I shutdown Ms AntiSpyware. Samething will happen to Photoshop Element 2.0

Photoshop 6 runs just fine on XP SP2. Make sure you have uninstalled any previous version of Photoshop.
