Hello. I am so confused. My computer is hijacked with Antivirus gold. I have a message from PS Guard showing up in the tray. Also a red X that says my computer is infected. I ran Hijack this and here is my scan result. I have not tried anything else yet, because I do not want to make it worse. Thank you so much for any help you can give!

Hi fitness,

Please print out these instructions or copy them into a text file on your Desktop for easy access.

During the fix, u will be asked to fix some entries, delete some files or uninstall sosme programs. If in case, you do not see those entries / files / programs, please make a note of it. Continue with the fix and in your next post please inform me of all deviations from the fix prescribed.

1. Download Programs

Please download these programs and save them in a new folder on your desktop -

CleanUp
Smitfraud.exe
Ewido Security Suite

Install Ewido, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

CWShredder

Update CWShredder

* Open CWShredder and click I AGREE
* Click Check For Update
* Close CWShredder

Restart the PC in Safe Mode (repeatedly tap the F8 key when the PC is starting up).

2. Remove Infections

Run Smitfraud.exe and install it. Locate the installed smitfraud foler and run sm.bat.

Run CWShredder. Click I Agree, then Fix and then Next, let it fix everything it asks about.

Run CleanUp and delete all temp files including temporary internet files

Run Ewido full scan. Let it fix any items it finds.

3. Run Hijack This

Run Hijack This and click on scan. The following items need to be fixed -

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://mypoiskovik.com/sp.htm
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://mypoiskovik.com/index.htm
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = res://shdocpa.dll/blank.htm
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.makemesearch.com/?said=382
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = res://shdocpa.dll/asst.htm
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://mypoiskovik.com/index.htm
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [FastStart] C:\WINDOWS\system32\svcnut32.exe home
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PSGuard] C:\Program Files\PSGuard\PSGuard.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [dnfyyhx] c:\windows\cgdlove.exe

Close all windows other than Hijack This. Check the boxes next to above items and click on Fix checked.

4. Delete Rogue files

Open Windows Explorer (right click on Start and then click on explore). Locate and delete the following folders and files -

c:\windows\cgdlove.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\svcnut32.exe
shdocpa.dl

Clear out the files in the Prefetch folder. Go to start> run> type into the box Prefetch and delete all the files in that folder. Dont delete the folder, only the files in it !!!!!!!!

Reboot the PC in Normal Mode.

Run Hijack This and post a fresh HJT log along with Ewido scan report.

thank you so much for all of your help. the black screen is gone but the homepage is still about.blank I am posting the hijack this and the ewido scan. Some of the files that you had listed to delete were not in the folder (c:\windows\cgdlove.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\svcnut32.exe
shdocpa.dl ( I could not find these...) also some of the things in hijack this were not listed also...
i have a wireless router and since this computer was hijacked the laptop is connecting but it says that the internet is not available or has limited ability. Is that from the hijack?
here are my new logs! Thank you so much! This has been so helpful and nice of you!

Hi fitness,

I seemed to have missed this earlier but you need to download and install Service Pack 1a from Microsoft. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.

Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.
