It's gone from your running processes so we're making progress. :tazz:

Please reboot into safe mode and delete:
D:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\rata.exe

Then fix:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KavSvc] D:\WINDOWS\System32\hamaul.exe reg_run

Boot back to normal and post a new log.

Yes. Updating (SP2) is one of the first things you should do now.

You can delete the icons.
Let me know if any of them resist.

If you have SP2 on a CD I would certainly prefer that way of installing it.
There have been some patches after the original SP so you will still have to visit Windows Update after you installed.

Did you uninstall any old versions and download the latest before you installed it?

Let me know.

Please. SP2 should be your first priority.

Can you tell me the exact error AdAware gives you when you try to connect?

You can manually download the difinitions here:
http://www.majorgeek...ownload726.html
You need referencefile SE1R53 07.07.2005

After you downloaded the defs.zip file
- go to the C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE Personal folder and rename defs.ref to defs.old
- Unzip the defs.zip file to the C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE Personal folder
- Start AdAware and check if it says Definitions file SE1R53 07.07.2005 Loaded
