I have a new Brother 3820CN printer-fax-scan etc. unit. When using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 (Professional) to create PDF files it will automatically change all the color pictures to balck and white. I've tried using photo and text and all types of resolution and scan types (256 Color and 24bit color) but no joy. THe prescan shows color but when going final (which creates the PDF) it converts to Black and White. I suspect the problem can be corrected by changing something in the Edit Preferences area. However although i've attempted many different combinations I've not been succesful. The scanner will scan fine to BMP files using Windows imaging (colors look great) but can't seem to get the right handshake for color scanning to Acrobat. Can anyone help me in locating the cause and providing a correction. (I've tried to contact ADOBE but they want mucho deniro to solve this problem ).. thanks in advance. Steve
I solved the problem... So in the event you have this same problem please note that in Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional there is an "Advanced" tab .. once clicked there is a list which includes a "Proof Colors" selection. That selection had been checked and the Proof Setup selection was set to "grey gamma 2.2" hence i only saw black and white. By changing the Proof Setup selection to any of the color type setups.. all the colors appeared.. LIKE DOROTHY IN THE LAND OF OZ. ... hope others don't hvae this problem..it took me hours to find it...dahhhhh..
