boot to the recovery console and type in fixmbr, then hit enter, then type fixboot, then hit enter, then exit, take out the cd and reboot

Not sure what you mean by "in the drive". If that refers to whats on the drive,
there is a lot of important stuff that I do not want to lose.

No, That did not work either.

Ended up taking it to the computer shop. All working fine now. Was told that there was a problem with the BIOS.
