Hi Earl,

Chances are that it may be linked one of the other infections on your PC. Lets get them first and then we will see about this one.

Please make sure that hidden and system files are visible. Read more about it http://www.bleepingc...ial62.html]here[/URL].

Please run Notepad and copy the following text into a new file:

@ECHO OFF
cd\windows
Nail.exe /FULLREMOVE
sc config SvcProc start= disabled
sc stop SvcProc
sc delete SvcProc
attrib -s -r -h nail.exe
attrib -s -r -h svcproc.exe
del nail.exe
del svcproc.exe
exit

Save the file to the desktop as remove.bat and make sure the "Save as type" field says "All files".

Reboot the PC in Safe Mode.

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on remove.bat. A window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Run CWShredder. Let it fix anything it finds.

Open HijackThis
Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following, making sure you get them all and not any others by mistake:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [lrwnbrs] c:\windows\system32\owfvyd.exe r

This entry may change after the reboot but is characterized by the random lrwnbrs and the random filename owfvyd.exe in C:\windows\system32 folder. the flag r appears after the file name. Fix that item also.

Locate and delete the files -

C:\WINDOWS\systb.dll
C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe
c:\windows\system32\owfvyd.exe (or the new random filename which appears after reboot)
C:\WINDOWS\System32\msdcom32.dll

Reboot the PC and post a fresh HJT log
