Your log looks clean, but I would run an active scan to find what leftovers it left on your machine.

Run this online virus scan: ActiveScan - Save the results from the scan!

Post the results and I will have a look

Thanks,

Empty you recycle bin please :tazz:

Just a few random bad files to clean up.
  • Open HiJackThis
  • Click on the configure button on the bottom right
  • Click on the tab "Misc Tools"
  • Click on "Delete File on Reboot"
  • Navigate to this file - C:\WINDOWS\smdat32a.sys
  • Double click on that file.
  • HJT asks you if you want to reboot, now. Click "no".

Do that for the following files also, until you get to the last one, then click "yes" when HJT asks you to reboot.

C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.inf
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\YSBactivex.dll
C:\WINDOWS\icxmkxp.exe
C:\WINDOWS\smdat32m.sys
C:\WINDOWS\SSK3_B5.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\dyhreo.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\HookPopup.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ide21201.vxd
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\mstbl.ocx
C:\WINDOWS\ucmoreiex.exe
C:\WINDOWS\weirdontheweb_topc.exe

Hello RayofLight :tazz:

Excal is going to be away for a few days and has asked me to help finish up your log.

Not much left here.Follow the directions below and tell me if they work please

go to start>my computer> C drive>windows>downloaded program <<<Now double click on it and everything in that folder should appear to the right if they do delete the following two items

bridge.inf
YSBactivex.dll

C:\RECYCLER\NPROTECT\00262262.DLL
C:\RECYCLER\NPROTECT\00262263.INF

These two are from Norton's program that protects the recycle bin, allowing you to retrieve things in case you change your mind about throwing them away after you empty the trash.

You can remove the protection either in the Norton program options, or right-click on the recycle bin and choose properties, then uncheck the Norton options regarding it, setting it to be a regular recycle bin.Try these and please keep me advised

Thanks ;)

Hey there.. thanks for helping while he's away!

I can't find those file names in that folder.. I have attached a picture of the folder and it's contents. If you zoom you can pick it out.

Maybe they are associated with the files in there but it doesn't say the name so I am not sure which ones to delete.

Also, I deleted Nortons off my system last week, It no longer protects the recycle bin. I still cannot find the files in question yet they keep showing up. Not sure what to do there....

Hey RayofLight :tazz:

Ok lets try this click start ... run type in cmd..hit enter now copy and paste this line in rmdir /s \?\d:\RECYCLER\NPROTECT It should ask yes or no type Y then enter

Click here to download Pocket Killbox by Option^Explicit. Extract it from the zip file

Now open pocketkillbox Select the option "Delete on reboot".
Now highlight and 'copy' (Ctrl + C) the entire list of filepaths below:
Click 'File' on the killbox menu at the top and choose 'Paste from clipboard'
The entire list should now be in the "Full Path of File to Delete"
field. To check, click on the dropdown-arrow next to that field.
If you expand it, these lines should all be there.

C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.inf
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\YSBactivex.dll

Then press the red button with a white X in it.
Killbox will tell you that all listed files will be deleted on next reboot, click YES.When it asks if you would like to Reboot now, click YES.

(If the lines wont appear it probably means the files are gone)

You should be good to go now but please advise on how it went

Thanks
