Hi!

I seem to be having the same problems with this virus that others are having. However, after following the instructions in multiple posts, I have yet to eliminate it. Araura.exe and drpmon.dll cannot be deleted, and every couple minutes my firewall tells me that thnall1ac.exe and some other programs with a bunch of letters are trying to connect to a DNS server. In addition to this, I'm still getting pop ups all over the place. Below is the latest HJT log for my system. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

• Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.
  
  
  Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:

  Exit Explorer, and reboot as normal afterwards.
  
  
  Please download ewido security suite it is a trial version of the program.
  • Install ewido security suite
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
  • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
  • The program will prompt you to update click the OK button
  • The program will now go to the main screen
  You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
  • On the left hand side of the main screen click update
  • Click on Start
  The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
  Once the updates are installed do the following:
  • Click on scanner
  • Make sure the following boxes are checked before scanning:
  • Binder
  • Crypter
  • Archives
• Click on Start Scan
• Let the program scan the machine

While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report

• Click Save report
• Save the report to your desktop

Reboot your machine and post back a new HJT Log and the Ewido Scan .txt Log

Hi,

It's definitely not solved. Virus protection is still telling me of trojans and something trying to connect to the internet. Here is the latest HJT and Edwido reports. Also, when I rebooted into safe mode, none of those files were present to delete. Thanks very much for your help!

Hi again, Sorry for the delay in response

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Please download Nailfix from here:
http://www.noidea.us...050515010747824
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Next please run HijackThis, click Scan, and check:

Download the following program, For keeping crap off your system to begin with
Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests. Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox. Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Download Spyware Blaster

Keep AD-Aware. and Spybot 1.3 handy, Check them for updates prior to running and run them weekly
Same with your Anti Virus,

For an added check run an online virus scan, you can use one of the 2 below,
TrendMicro's HouseCall
ActiveScan

Be sure and give the Temp folders a cleaning out now and then as well, Make sure after you clean your Temp files to empty out your Recycle bin as well.
For ease use the following program
Download and install Cleanup
Run "Cleanup" and when it has finished, Reboot

Remeber to Check Windows for updates

Probably a good time to create a new restore point See Here Name it clean or something like that,
