[Drakeman]

I am currently having trouble removing spyware/adware (then again, this is what I think it is). I presume the source of the mass pop-ups and slow system performance is a program named Seeve.exe, but I'm not quite sure, so I downloaded Hijackthis and saved a log for one of you to judge.

I'm not quite sure on how to remove it either, as I have ran Adaware and Norton several times. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I was able to delete all folders that you listed within the Program Files directory and was able to uninstall all of the programs you listed with the exception of "Internet Optimizer". Instead, all I got was a quick flash on the Add/Remove Programs box and nothing happened. I rebooted my computer and here is my new HijackThis Log:

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Please follow the instructions provided, you may want to print out these instructions and use them as a reference.


1. Please download ewido security suite it is a trial version of the program.

• Install ewido security suite
• When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
• Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
• The program will prompt you to update click the OK button
• The program will now go to the main screen

You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.

• On the left hand side of the main screen click update
• Click on Start

The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.

REBOOT into SAFE MODE

Once in Safe Mode do the following:

• Open EWIDO
• Click on scanner
• Make sure the following boxes are checked before scanning:
  • Binder
  • Crypter
  • Archives
• Click on Start Scan
• Let the program scan the machine

While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files, click OK

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report

• Click Save report
• Save the report to your desktop

Reboot your machine and post back a new HJT log and the ewido .txt log file you saved by using Add Reply

I'm currently having trouble running Ewido in Safe Mode. I can open it and scan it fine, until it gets to 80.6%. After that, an error occurs and it immediately shuts down.

Try this:

If the program just exits before it finishes, start it again and set it up to do a custom scan:

Click the Scanner button over to the left, then clickthe +Disk/Directory/File button and add:

*and add c:\documents and settings\
*add c:\windows\
*add c:\windows\system32\

Then click start scan, have it remove everything found.

Hello! I just got back from a vacation from Orlando. I tried to run Ewido again, but once it hits 80.6%, an error comes up and it immediately shuts down. The pop ups are seeming to get worse as well .

Yes, and everything else you listed. On a positive note, my computer does seem to be running a little bit better, but I still get occasional pop-ups and my explorer bar always blinks on and off every 5 minutes or so.
