my girlfriend's computer burned in a fire built new one but the product key now don't work. any help possibly a different key

Howdy and welcome to G2G:

Her system burnt up but what about her Win98 install cd??

If it is the correct cd, then there is no reason the key code shouldn't work..

Otherwise, buy another install cd as no one will help you pirate or crack the old one!!
