About every 15mins or so, my cpmouter crashes back to the desktop and a dialouge box appears and all i can do is click O.K. Then my web page is hijacked to www.netbuxcash.tk and there is nothing i can do to stop it. Im sick of being in the middle of something and then having this occur every 15 mins.

I have run 6 anti-spyware problems with the latest definitions and they cant find it.
Ive tried. . .

1. Microsoft antispyware
2. Ad-aware 6
3. Spybot
4. Spysweeper
5. Xoftspy
6. No-adaware

Please help.

Too much protection is not always a good thing. Your antispyware programs are protecting the malware from each other.

Uninstall

Microsoft Antispyware - still in beta and not fully capable
XoftSpy - Former Rogue Antispyware, dirty past and not a trusted antispyware program
No-adaware - Same as XoftSpy. Not a trusted antispyware program

Now go into Safe Mode so that Norton is disabled and run a full system scan with Webroot's SpySweeper (excellent program).

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

After that, reboot into normal windows and run HiJackThis again and well see if anything else is left to deal with.

Once you do that, I need to get a peek at something you have running. Lets do this.

I need you to open an explorer window and go to this folder.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\Microsoft\

In that folder you will see a folder called Security.

Right click on that folder and go to Sent To - Compressed Zipped Folder. It should save a file called Security.zip in that folder. Copy that somewhere you will remember, like your desktop.

Please upload it to
The Spy Killer Forum

*Click on "New Topic"
*Put your name, e-mail address, and this as the title: "put file path here"
*Put a link to this geeks to go topic in the description box.
*Then next to the file box. at the bottom, click the "browse" button, then navigate to where you saved the file. Click on the file to highlight it.

*Press "Open".
*Click "Post".

Thank you!

The file is a confirmed Keylogger. It has been keeping information about your computer and its transactions. There is a .dat file in that security folder that has the information that was sent.

If you are interested in seeing what was sent, you can look in that file. You can copy that .dat file somewhere for later reference. Just dont save any .exe out of that folder. If you find a password of yours in that log, you will want to change that password and if you find your credit card number there, you will want to ask for a new one.

Once you are finished, we need to get rid of it.

Re-Open HiJackThis and click scan. Place a check next to this entry.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Anna] C:\WINDOWS\system32\Microsoft\security\msips32.exe

After that, click Fix Checked and then reboot into safe mode.

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Once in safe mode go back to this folder.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\Microsoft\

And delete the entire Security folder.

After that, reboot into normal windows and post a fresh HiJackThis log.

Yup.

Clean log!

The following is a list of tools and utilities that I like to suggest to people. This list is full of great tools and utilities to help you understand how you got infected and how to keep from getting infected again.
  • Spybot Search & Destroy - Uber powerful tool which can search and annhilate nasties that make it onto your system. Now with an Immunize section that will help prevent future infections.
  • AdAware - Another very powerful tool which searches and kills nasties that infect your system. AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy compliment each other very well.
  • SpywareBlaster - Great prevention tool to keep nasties from installing on your system.
  • SpywareGuard - Works as a Spyware "Shield" to protect your computer from getting malware in the first place.
  • IE-SpyAd - puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.

I got some new information that I thought I should pass on.

The information contained in that .dat file may not be all the information that was passed on. It would be best if you went through and changed all your passwords and if you use your credit card on the internet, to call your credit card company and ask for a new one.

Just want to be sure you are safe!
