Don't know if this would help, but here's my Hijack This log.

When windows 2K is first booted up, explorer shows usual 1% or less of mem usage, then about 10 secs later ramps up to 77% of memory usage and stays there. Have 1 GB memory on machine, have only installed up to Service Pack 3 for Win2K.

My son is up for the summer and has played Conquer & Tibia online. Perhaps playing these games online affects explorer?

Thanks..

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.

Up to this point I have posted twice and received little help. I assume you guys have never seen this issue. I have seen other forums that had similar issues, only they were a year or so older.

I have already done the items requested of the other forum, but when I posted here without a log, I got very little assistance, just remarks that I may have too many tasks running on other toolbars.

I really don't know what it takes to get a real reply from this board.
