I'm having tons of problems that I believe to be related to the Trojan-Spy.HTML.Smitfraud virus. A blue screen has taken over my background telling me that my computer's been infected by this. There's also a generic search engine (all the links are to things like Gambling, viagra, and mortgage refinancing sites) that has taken over IE and keeps me from using Yahoo (the search engine rears it's ugly head whenever I try to check emails). Finally, Netscape is freezing up on my whenever I try to do any type of google search or send an email.

Please, please help. I've gone through all your steps to rid my computer of Malware, but nothing is working.

Thanks.

Hey Trevuren,

I followed the steps you gave me and am sorry to report that things have gone from bad to worse. The same problems still exist, only now it's taking an extremely long time for my system to do almost anything (ie follow a link, paste some text, etc.). I ran an online virus scan (through Panda) and have the results.

What should I do next? I'm completely stumped...

Thanks,

Mike
