Hello

I have just been told to come here after my hijack this log was apparently clean

I now have no idea why i have this connection problem

So let me explain:

I have a 1MB broadband connection and have no troubles using the internet

i recently gt half life 2 and started playing counter strike.

When i play large maps i get a HUGE ping of like 500
When i play smaller maps my ping drops to <100

so is this my internet not able to cope
or my processor speed

i cant remeber my coms specs but i know its 512 RAM and around 2 Ghz

Can anyone offer a possible solution or a reason as to why this happens?

oh and before i forget i do get slow game play every now and again when playing regular half life 2 without the internet. So i'm guessing it could be my ghz speed maybe. But i'm here to make sure it's not everything else.

i tried disabling my firewall, i never run any other programs whilst playing (especially internet related ones).

So i'm not completely sure whats going on.

Any help is appreciated

thanks in advance
regards

It's probably your connection. I don't think your CPU or Video card affects ping.
