Thanks, sorry for delay in replying - long day at work.

The Ewido scan returned no viruses etc, so not sure if you need the log of that - i've temporaryily lost it as well, I think becuase in safe mode I logged into windows as administrator not me, and now I'm profiled as me in normal mode - can get it if needed.

Here is the hijack log........

Hi bld213,

First of all, you have two anti-virus softwares running. Disable one of them (it doesn't matter which). Two softwares can conflict with each other.

We need to disable your Microsoft AntiSpyware Real-time Protection and Spybot's TeaTimer as they may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.

To disable Microsoft AntiSpyware Real-time Protection:
  • Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
  • Click on Tools, Settings.
  • In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
  • Under Startup Options uncheck Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
  • Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
  • After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
  • Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware.
To disable Spybot's Tea Timer:
  • Run Spybot-S&D
  • Go to the Mode menu and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
  • On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
  • Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
  • Restart your computer.
Then. open HijackThis, run a scan and check these items:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C8B2A36-3DB1-42A4-A3CB-D426709BBFEB} - (no file)

The following item is optional.

PowerReg Scheduler is used by many companies as a registration reminder, this is not required and has been know to send infomation about your computer to companies. I strongly recommend that you check this item.
O4 - Startup: PowerReg Scheduler.exe

Now please close all windows and browsers, except HijackThis, and have HijackThis fix them by clicking on Fix Checked.

Then, reboot in Safe mode. To reboot in Safe mode:
Restart your computer and immediately begin tapping the F8 key on your keyboard. If done right a Windows Advanced Options menu will appear. Select the Safe Mode option and press Enter.

Then, delete Temp Files. To delete temp files:
Click on Start and then run, and type %temp% and press the ok button.

This should open up the temp directory that your machine uses. Please delete all files that are found there.

Do this same process for %windir%\temp.

Then, delete Temporary Internet Files. To delete Temporary Internet Files:
Open up Internet Explorer, and click on the Tools menu and then Internet Options. At the General tab, which should be the first tab you are currently on, click on the Delete Files button and put a checkmark in Delete offline content. Then press the OK button. This may take quite a while, so do not be alarmed with how long it takes. When it is done, your Temporary Internet Files will now be deleted.

Then, reboot (in the normal mode) and post a new log in this thread. Also, please metion the problems you are experiencing with PC at the moment.
