Fast User Switching

Hello all,

I have been having troubles with fast user switching. When i do "start", "log off", "switch users"
and go to the welcome screen, i try to click on another account. It looks like it is begining to log on, but then kicks back to the welcome screen. The only account you can log into is the account you log out of.

I am running : XP pro, SP 2, all updates to date. I am also running trend pc-cillin
there are no other programs starting.

What i have tried:
Tried to delete and create new accounts (corrupt account fix) - no effect
Clean out and change security log files - nothing
Turn off and on all services, including fast user switching - nothing
