Try this.

Click Start, point to Programs and select Windows Install Cleanup. Select Office 2000 and click remove. Click OK then click Exit. Then try to re-install Windows 2000. If this does not work, run Install Clean Up again then manually delete the office 2000 files in the Program folder. You should be able to successfully re-install Office 2000.
