Hi, thanks in advance for your help. I have run Spybot, Ewido Security Suite, Ad-Aware, Panda and Housecall, but still getting those stupid popup ads when I open my browser. I noticed a new application called OIN (outerinfo network) in my add/remove program list. When I went to uninstall it, it instructed me to download their uninstaller which I wouldn't do because I don't trust scumbags that put crap on my computer in the first place. Today I noticed the OIN entry isn't showing up there anymore. Please help before my wife leaves me for spending so many hours trying to fix this problem. Thanks. Here's my Hijack This log:

Hi Tj ;)

I need a couple files analyzed please.

C:\WINDOWS\System32\MSTMON_S.EXE<---This file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\RyHVkL2W.dll<---This file

Go here and have them scanned please.

Jotti On-line Scan

Click on browse navigate to these files and hit submit.

Post back your findings please. ;)

Something else just caught my eye when looking this over, you are running hijack this out of a temp folder, we need to change that.

Double-click on the zip file containing the HijackThis.exe file. Select the HijackThis.exe, and hit the combination “Ctrl + C”.
Minimize the zipfolder, and go to My Computer. Double-click on C:/, then double-click on Program Files.

In the menu bar you’ll find “File”. Click it, then choose “New”, and then “Folder”.

Call this folder HijackThis. Double-click to open this – new – folder.
Now use the combination “Ctrl + V” to paste the HijackThis.exe into this folder. Now close all other windows, and double-click on the HijackThis.exe in the folder you’ve just created.

We will need this changed for the next time we need to see a log. :tazz:

Disclaimer
This service is by no means 100% safe. If this scanner says 'OK', it does not necessarily mean the file is clean. There could be a whole new virus on the loose. NEVER EVER rely on one single product only, not even this service, even though it utilizes several products. Therefore, I cannot and will not be held responsible for any damage caused by results presented by this non-profit online service.

Also, I am aware of the implications of a setup like this. I am sure this whole thing is by no means scientifically correct, since this is a fully automated service (although manual correction is possible). I am aware, in spite of efforts to proactively counter these, false positives might occur, for example. I do not consider this a very big issue, so please do not e-mail me about it. This is a simple online scan service, not the university of Wichita.

Scanning can take a while, since several scanners are being used, plus the fact some scanners use very high levels of (time consuming) heuristics. Scanners used are Linux versions, differences with Windows scanners may or may not occur. Another note: some scanners will only report one virus when scanning archives with multiple pieces of malware.

Virus definitions are updated every hour. There is a 15Mb limit per file. Please refrain from uploading tons of hex-edited or repacked variants of the same sample.

Please do not ask for viruses uploaded here, unless you work for an anti-virus vendor. They are not for trade. This is a legitimate service, not a VX site. Viruses uploaded here will be distributed to antivirus vendors without exception.

Hello Tj ;)

Since those files came back clean i can give you a big Congrats!!!!! you are clean :tazz:

A couple of things keep catching my eye, whenever i go through this log and i should have mentioned it earlier. You need to get a anti virus in here as soon as possible and get your updates taken care of. I will just add a finishing speech, you can find a good free anti virus in there as well as links to the updated page, and your good to go from there. ;)

Since your issues have been addressed and you are ready to travel the net again, I will just give you a few ideas on how to stay safe out there. Best of all these programs are all readily available on the net for free :help:

To reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster and SpyWareGuard.

SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard are by JavaCool and both are free programs. SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed and consumes no system resources. SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.

More info and download is available at:

Spyware Blaster Spyware Guard

Might I suggest the following Free Spyware programs for added security, you can download them at the following links. These programs work great for detection:

Ad-aware SE--Adaware Tutorial

Spybot S&D--Spybot Tutorial

Antiviruses play an important role in keeping your computer safe and worry free while using the net. *NOTE* Only one antivirus must be allowed to run on your computer, as having two or more running can and will cause conflicts.

AVG Avast

Firewalls are also a must in any good prevention :

Zone Alarm Sygate Kerio

There are different browsers available on the net, other than Internet Explorer, we believe!! these are better for security purposes :

Firefox Opera

You must stay on top of your updates at all times, for the above mentioned applications.

It is vitaly important to stay on top of your critical updates provided by microsoft.

This can be accessed by going to Windows Updates and following the prompts.

To add to the performance of your computer, i suggest a weekly maintenance program. Run this tool. Ccleaner

Lastly a second opinion on the Antivirus that you have chosen. I suggest running these online virus scans periodically, just to make sure that the av is doing a proper job, of keeping you safe :

Rav Online Scan Housecall Online Scan Panda Activescan

Housecall Java Online Scan<---For those who use Firefox

And finally a little Posted Image How did I get infected in the first place ? (by Mr. Tony Klein and dvk01)

Good luck and safe surfing :help:
