Limewire w/ Win98

I have installed limewire on my achine running 98 Se and when I double click on the icon, while there seems to be some attempt to open, the timer soon disappears and the program never opens. What is the problem. My machine is virus and spyware free by the way.

First Limewire has some excellent help web pages so be sure to consult them. For win98 you need to have an up to date Java runtime environment for Limewire to work, and it has to be enabled in any firewalls you are using. If you have a router it may need to have ports forwarded for Limewore, and so may your firewall.
