Hi! This is my first post, so please forgive any stupidity on my part. I have been on the net for years, and have never got anything. But in the past month, I have gotten (and got rid of) Blasterworm. Since then I have been riddled with every virus under the sun. Korgo S,V, Q; spybot.worm; and now downloader.dyfica (multiple variants), downloader. Istbar (multiple variants), and downloader.agent.as and al. I run spybot SandD, AVG, Norton, and The Cleaner. I get rid of them, but as soon as I connect to the internet, they come back in an onslaught!!! I am about to throw my puter out the window! Any assitance would be appreciated in advance.

Please delete your temporary files by deleting all files and folders that are in those folders (do not delete the temp folder itself) like for example
C:\WINDOWS\Temp\
C:\Temp\
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\
Also delete your Temporary Internet Files, be sure to also select delete all offline content.

--Windows XP--

Please delete your temporary files. Double Click My Computer (WinXP: Navigate to Start --->My Computer)
You will see an icon representing your harddrive (most likely C: Drive) Right Click on the hard drive icon and click Properties at the
bottom of the fly out window. One the very first tab (General) you will see a button labeled "Disk Cleanup"...click that button.
Make sure the following are checked:
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files and
Recycle Bin
Click OK and Disk Cleanup will delete those files for you.


Reboot and post a new log.

Hi Again! I hope you don't think me stupid, but I just wanted to ask one thing. Why do I have to delete my AWS Weatherbug?? I know its a trusted program I have used for years now. Just wondering Thanks for all your help.

You may keep Weatherbug. People are split on whether its harmful to your system.

I don't have it but prefer to subscribe to the National Weather Service's program for weather alerts.

Do a google search on Weatherbug and read up on it. Don't ever be embarrassed asking us anything. We all have asked questions many, many times and continue to do so.

Thanks Coachwife! I deleted those keys, scanned with moosofts scanner, Norton, and spybot S and D, deleted all temp files, and I did all this in safe mode. Also ran disk check and defrag. I rebooted, and here is my new HJT log.... Let me know how it looks. I still have viruses in the AVG virus vault ... Thanks in advance.

PS: Ok,, I was getting ready to hit reply, and this AVG detected another stinking virus .. it was IRC/Backdoor.sdbot.27.BN in C:\WINDOWS\System32\TFTP1468

You appear to be free of spyware, but do have evidence of at least one virus on your system (winserv.exe). Run a full system scan with AVG and fix anything it finds.

Thanks. I aquired SASSER.B and Spybot worm earlier while I was online. How do I keep getting these things?? AVG didn't get anything,, but Norton quarentined Sasser and deleted the other. I also have these grey popups that say messenger service popping up. I disabled them once, but can't remember how to again. Do any of you all know how??

Click Start, Run, type "services.msc" (without the quotes) hit enter. Scroll down to "Messenger" double click it, stop it and disable it. No more messenger. Lets get a new Hijack log too. Don't give up we'll get it. We have to get your system clean and make sure it gets protected before it gets infected.....again.

It's me again guys. Im getting so frustrated. I completely clean my system of every trojan and spyware, but as soon as I connect to the internet, the same darn ones jump right back into my computer! Its like there is something just sucking them in. Here is my new hijack this log. Oh, I also downloaded spywareblaster. I still see the popups come up on the status bar, but then they disappear, so I guess that much is working, but I still am re-getting dyfica and istbar. Is there any way to completely uninstall IE so these things won't come back if they use IE??
