I did run Housecall, and it caught the Bat.sasser.A and one other, but it couldn't clean them. Can I completely uninstall IE safely to help take care of this problem?? (repeated getting of the same dumb adware and spyware)

Donna

Thanks <_<

Try the free virus scan from Panda Software. It cleans the system, if I remember correctly. Very user friendly. Don't give up. Think of it as a long journey - one that is well worth it. <_<

Hi Again! :D I thought I would post another HJT log and tell you I tried the Panda Active scan. It took a LOOOOONG time to complete, but it got rid of the BAT.SASSER.A virus and one other worm I didn't even catch with the others (Worm.Generic ?) Anyway, I also used the CWShredder and reinstalled ADaware and used it, and I have been online for a LOOONG time and haven't picked up anything yet, except normal cookies. (PRAISE GOD). I think I have the patches I need for windows, but I am not gonna download SP2 yet. I think I might order the CD instead. I have heard there are alot of bugs (no pun intended <_< still in it. Anyway, I truly appreciate everyone's help so far. You all are a Godsend.
Let me know how this looks.. And oh,, Johnnyrotten said something about Winserv.exe??? What's the deal with it??

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Notn] C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\eber.exe

Please reboot into safe mode - How do I boot into "Safe" mode?.
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\eber.exe

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. <_<
