Morrowind

I played the German version of Morrowind, where NPC health is displayed. After Installing the English version, it annoyed me that NPC health was no longer displayed. I tried downloading and installing the Morrowind_v1.2.0722 patch, but got an error saying

"Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update was done since file contents do not match."

The same thing happened while installing the Morrowind_v1.1.0605 patch. I do not have any expansions installed. How can I install the patch or at least get it to display NPC health?
