My pc will boot up to the desktop ok but then I cannot open any files from the desktop or the start program. Please help....... <_<

If you can't download and run Hijack This, try booting into safe mode. And then see if you can run anything.

Reboot into safe mode - How do I boot into "Safe" mode?.
