I have noticed recently that whenever I try to run adaware,spybot,or an AVG scan,my system locks up or takes forever to scan.I also just started getting a balloon in my system tray warning me my system could be infected,for more info cllick the balloon.When I click on the balloon it takes me to a spyware removal ad.I can't get rid of it.Any ideas would be appreciated!

Hello there. I believe this is a Malware-related problem. Please go HERE and follow "Step 5: Posting a HijackThis Log". Once you have posted your HJT log in the Malware Removal forum, someone will be able to help you get fixed back up!

Also wouldnt hurt to check your HD for fragmentation as virus scans take much longer if the drive is highly fragmented.
