PLEASE HELP...I am NOT a computer savy person...that means when someone who understands computers gives me instructions - I get easily lost.

Here is my problem - I have something on my puter called DIRECT REVENUE aka BUDDY....I have installed 2 antispyware programs...paying big bucks for one and nothing will make this thing go away. Adding to my frustration is the fact that when I read someone's suggestions on how to eliminate this pest - I have no idea what they are talking about! For example..."back up your registry". I don't know what a registry is...where to find it..or how to back it up. (You get the picture)

Can any of you help me destroy DIRECT REVENUE??????? It's slowing down my computer...it's everywhere..

You need to move your HijackThis to a permenant folder like C:\HJT. To do this, click My Computer>C drive>Create New Folder. Name it HJT, or whatever you want.

I would like you to print out the following instructions because for some of them you will not be able to access the internet. If you don't have a printer, copy and paste these instructions to Notepad.

Please download Clean Up! and save it on your desktop.

Run Clean Up! and delete all temp files including temporary internet files.

You have a CoolWebSearch infection.

First, Download CWShredder here to its own folder.

Update CWShredder

* Open CWShredder and click I AGREE
* Click Check For Update
* Close CWShredder
Boot into Safe Mode:
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Now run CWShredder. Click I Agree, then Fix and then Next, let it fix everything it asks about. Reboot your computer into normal windows.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and we'll remove what's left.
