Also try uninstalling MSN and reinstalling it. If it doesn't work still then double click the installation file again and choose "Repair" when the window pops up and it should work. That's what I just had to do. Just an addition to what Coachwife is instructing you to do.

I know of two friends of mine whose names get signed on when they are not there. One is a friend of my son's, whose name gets signed on while he's at school during his day. Another is a friend who is a computer tech., and he has no answer for it.

Have you asked your friends if they are actually on or do you just see them signed on and they don't answer.

Actually guys, i think the problem isnt your pc. Ive been having this problem all last night with MSN, and it finally started working regularly today. If you check the status page on messenger on the msn website it tells you that its undergoing routine maintanence. Its a regoinal thing, so just hang tite.

You know the drill by now:

Get rid of this entry.

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://db105.com:81/...n/index.cgi?c=0

Delete your temporary files and clean up your disc.

Make sure you're running adaware, and spyblaster or your brother will wring your neck. <_<
