You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://www.search-1.net/search.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapp...//www.yahoo.com
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =
O1 - Hosts: 64.91.255.87 www.dcsresearch.com

Reboot normally.
Reset your host file. Click Here to download HostsFileReader. To reset the host file to default, simply open the program, click the "reset default" button, and confirm the changes.

Close all programs and rescan with Hijack This, post new log.

Sometimes cookies are stored correctly, and you have to login again. I think I've found a workaround, try the link to HostsFileReader again. <_<

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [anmanl] C:\WINNT\system32\anmanl.exe

Please reboot into safe mode - How do I boot into "Safe" mode?.
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):
C:\WINNT\system32\anmanl.exe

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. <_<

Ok I did close everything and ran HijackThis and did not find

04- HKLM \..\Run:[anmanl]C:\WINNT\system32\anman.exe

and another thing also is, when I reboot, I can't press F8 to go in safe mode. I also went to "Start" "Run" typed in "msconfig" and this is what i get
"cannot find the file "msconfig" (or one of it's components). Make sure the path & file name are correct and that all required libraries are available.

Is there anything I can do to fix it? I know someone said to run my windows cd, but I didn't quit get it I don't think <_<
(windows cd is the "Microsoft Windows 2000" enit? :D

But I did reboot and ran HijackThis and here it is:

The line we wanted to fix has now become:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [r50_qci] C:\WINNT\system32\r50_qci.exe

Follow the same process as before to have hijackthis fix it

Then we need to delete the r50_qci.exe

Click Here to download TheKillbox. Extract TheKillBox.exe from the zip file and double click it to open it up. In the 'Enter Full Path and Filename to Delete' box, copy and paste these entries one by one, clicking 'Find and Kill This File' after each one:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [r50_qci] C:\WINNT\system32\r50_qci.exe

Click 'Exit' when done.

Note: If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run TheKillbox, download and run: http://www.javacools...ngfilesetup.exe. Then try TheKillbox again.

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic

O.K. I downloaded a free trial of Tune-Up & cleaned it up. & rebooted once. I checked the message on here. And I did run HijackThis again & this is what it shows now. I did not see the
04-HKLM\..\Run:[r50_qci]C:\WINNT\system32\r50_qci.exe.
