In an effort to clean up my computer I was just looking [not touching!] the various files in my folders. In "my music" - a pre-setup file by XP I found bunches of files with an idx extension--can I delete these? There seemed to be something associated with AOL.

thanks, daisypearl

Index File Structure (.idx)
Index files contain one header record and one or many node records.
I think this is like a system root file for intel processors
i dont think you should delete it. but aint 100% sure. <_<

You're not likely to gain much space by removing them, but if they're in your My Music folder, you're not going to cause any harm to your system by deleting them.
