Re-ran Ad-aware first before connecting to internet and it is showing 45 new objects already and hasn't finished scanning yet. Something must be reloading these things on reboot, even though I'm not connected to the internet, no??

Okay - here's where I am:
Ran Ad-aware on reboot again last night, showed all that stuff again, deleted it again. Then ran Ewido security suite, which only identified four things - I did not delete them because I was unsure if Ewido was mistakenly reading the L2M fix as L2M - here is the report from Ewido:

H then went very briefly on internet to retrieve his e-mail. Got a notice from our cable provider that someone has been sending him emails with MyDoom virus attached, provider threatening to shut down his email. Does this mean that one of these Trojans has been sending his email info out to someplace that is sending back this virus? How do we stop this?

Then this morning, rebooted computer in normal mode again, and Ad-aware scan was clean, Ewido scan just showed same as above, and Hijack this log shows:

Since this log file looked okay, I went ahead and opened Internet Explorer this morning and surfed a little bit, then re-ran Ad-aware and hijackthis. Nothing on the ad-aware scan (except a few tracking cookies, normal stuff) and hijackthis log looks the same as above.

So seems like I may be okay, except for the questions about whether to remove the L2Mfix stuff that Ewido flagged, and what to do about his email being attacked with someone trying to send the MyDoom virus??

Them Look2me files Ewido finds are ok them files were just files that the l2mfix backed up that were deleted.

You cant realy stop viruses being sent by email just ignore them.

Your log is clean

Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:

• Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
• Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
• How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
• How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.

To protect yourself further:

• IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
• MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
• Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.

I also suggest that you delete any files from "temp", "tmp" folders. In Internet Explorer, click on "Tools" => "Internet Options" => "Delete Files" and select the box that says "Delete All Offline Content" and click on "OK" twice. Also, empty the recycle bin by right clicking on it and selecting "Empty Recycle Bin". These steps should be done on a regular basis.
