During the fix, u will be asked to fix some entries, delete some files or uninstall sosme programs. If in case, you do not see those entries / files / programs, please make a note of it. Continue with the fix and in your next post please inform me of all deviations from the fix prescribed.

1. Download Programs

Please download these programs and save them in a new folder on your desktop -

CleanUp

2. Run Hijack This

Run Hijack This and click on scan. The following items need to be fixed -

Hey,

I did everything that you said to do and now i am scanning with panda. I notice on probem. When i booted up my computer in safe mode it changed my windows and buttons to "Classic style". i thought that this would be normal. I then restarted my computer after i did what you told me to do and the "classic style" is still there. Now when i try to change it the only option that it has is classic style! :tazz: ;) ;) I will get back to you with my panda log

Hi,

(Cant let myself call you fathead :tazz: )

There is some cleaning up of the junk to be done -

Run Hijack This and click on scan. The following items need to be fixed -

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe

Close all windows other than Hijack This. Check the boxes next to above items and click on Fix checked.

Restart the PC in Safe Mode (repeatedly tap the F8 key when the PC is starting up).

Open Add or Remove Programs (click on Start ---> Settings ---> Control panel. This should be the 3rd item). Uninstall or remove the following items -

View Point Manager
180 Solutions

Open Windows Explorer (right click on Start and then click on explore). Locate and delete the following folders and files -

C:\Program Files\Viewpoint < --------- Folder
C:\Program Files\180searchassistant < --------- Folder

C:\WINDOWS\msxct1.ini
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\ysbactivex.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\SahImages
C:\Documents and Settings\Valued Customer\Desktop\Computer\mirror_plugin.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\Valued Customer\Desktop\GAMEZ\Diablo_2_Lord_of_Destruction_v1.10_No-CD_Cracklalala.zip
C:\Documents and Settings\Valued Customer\Local Settings\Temp\uninstall.exe
C:\WINDOWS\m3265len.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\knqqf4on.dll

Reboot the PC in Normal Mode and post a fresh HJT log here. Also let me know how your PC is behaving

Hi,

There are lots of reasons for that happening !!!!!!!!! Yes BIOS could be a reason.

But lets check the other ones -

Most Win XP shutdown problems reported thus far have been that it reboots when shutdown is attempted. This may be a global symptom emerging from several distinct causes, because, by default, XP executes an automatic restart in the event of a system failure. Therefore, more or less anything compromising the operating system during the shutdown process could force this reboot.

Disabling the “restart on system failure” feature may permit the exact cause to be isolated: Right-click on My Computer, click Properties, click the Advanced tab. Under “Startup & Recovery,” click Settings. Under “System Failure,” uncheck the box in front of “Automatically restart.”

Please Right click on My COmputer icon on your desktop and then click on Properties. Click on Hardware and then Device Manager. Please check whether any of the devices are having issues.

Let me know about it !!!! Also let me know what motherboard you have on your PC !!!
