If I click on the hotmail web page (or most all other web pages) it will automatically redirect the browser to a errorplace (http://www.errorplac...c=&aff=&q=atdmt) . This is so frustrating and I'm not very computer literate so I have tried to do what some of the others here have mentioned about this but nothing seems to help. I have run Spybot S & D and Ad-aware 6.0 with the plug in for VX2/f files also. I have run Norton 2003 that has all the updates and nothing seems to work. I have had alerts that I have trojan.killfiles identified but none of the scans seems to remove them. Scans have identified the VX2/f files but are unable to remove. Please Help!!! I see many list the log from hyjack this here so here it is:

If it's there.
Next empty out your temporary files by Clicking "My Computer", right click your Hard Drive (usually C:\), click properties, and click the "Disk Cleanup" button. Make sure everything to Temp or Temporary folders are checked and cleanup.

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

The backup icons are from Hijack This. You should save them in case you need to restore something it has deleted. I would move Hijack this to something like
C:\HJT\ and put the backup folders in there too. You can make a desktop shortcut to hijack this if you want. If you put it in C:\HJT The shortcut path would be c:\HJT\hijack this.exe

jonnyrotten--- thanks again...the browser does not rediret to anything and everything seems to be working great!!! the only thing i notice is that on like my home page of the web browser and like msn web page that the far right third of the page is blank. Is this ads that are no longer coming up or did the margins get moved?? Not a big deal just curious. Betty

Hahahah... well if there was something there before I guess I'm not missing it!! I'm just sooo happy to have the use of my browser back again without constantly trying to stop it before it would redirect into that obnoxious errorplace I did just run spybot S&D again and the VX2/f file is still showing up and it says it can't fix or delete it. Should I be worried that this will cause me problems???

Remove these with Hijack This.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NaviSearch] C:\Program Files\NaviSearch\bin\nls.exe

Reboot into safe mode and delete these files in bold.

C:\Program Files\NaviSearch

Reboot and see if it still shows up.

-=jonnyrotten=-

Hold tight for a few minutes too, I'm checking on something else in there, You are pretty much done though. <_<

Hey, I missed the fact you are using an older version of Hijack This. Please update to the latest version by clicking the link in my signature.
