The only XP cd's that aren't bootable are copied or pirated.. We already know your XP Pro is pirated, so where did you get your XP Home cd from??

Put your cd into the cd-rom and re-boot your system..

As long as the first boot device in BIOS is NOT the hdd, then it should boot from the cd..

Did your Dad use it??

i've seen that before.......
murray do you want to walk this one through fdisk?
(i don't neccessarily have time for that walk through)

Not yet.. If the cd has already been used and still in use, then they can't install it anyway..

If the cd is legit then I will walk them through the fdisk process..

Thanks for the offer though!! :tazz:

you can use an xp cd more than twice as long as you legitimately own it. all you have to do is activate it over the phone and make sure they know it's a format reinstall
