I dont know what's happening



We installed XP Pro on our new hard drive the other day, and its all running very well. But there is absolutely no sound coming out of our speakers.

Yes, the new card was installed properly.
Yes, the speakers are hooked up properly.
Yes, the computer has located the card and driver for it. It reads it and recgonizes it.

The sound worked just fine on the ME drive, just not on XP Pro.. is the SP2 going to be a conflict with the SB Live? Everything else is running WONDERFULLY! Help!!

Are you sure that the sound card is even compatible with Windows XP? Remember that XP is kind of a new version and even some programs are not compatible with it such as older games etc.

Have you tested your speakers on another computer? Speakers are known to break without notice.

Make sure you have installed the Drivers And is it supported with XP ?

Remove the soundcard from your device manager and turn off your computer. Open up your pc box and take the card out and reseat it and put the box back together. turn your computer back on and let Windows find a suitable driver for it and see if that solves your problem.

- Your suggestion made the most sense. Yea our Sound card is compatible with XP pro, or else we wouldnt have bought it right?

We're gonna delete the card, take it out, reseat it to another slot, let windows set it up and see what happens. Thanks!

Howdy:

Did you check to make sure it volume wasn't muted??

Also, double check where you plugged it into.. Speakers normally connect to the light green jack..
