I can't understand why getting to websites is so painfully slow right now. My DSL speed is at 1.9ghz, so that is not the problem.

I have dumped internet files and cookies, start up items, run adaware 1.05, run spybot , defragged, etc. Still it sucks.

Please help by reviewing this log, and see what I am missing. Is the missing DHL searchhook the problem? (I don't know what this is, but it sounds like a likely culprit.) I use this computer every day for work and now I am falling behind.

Thanks,
Stacy

Also, we can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.
Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.

Some hijacks interfere with the installation of Service Pack 2, so we'll hold of for now. When we're finished cleaning your computer we highly recommend installing SP2. Click here: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/.
-or-
It's a very large download, so if you're on dial-up, order a free CD here:

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

O3 - Toolbar: My &Search Bar - {0494D0D9-F8E0-41ad-92A3-14154ECE70AC} - C:\Program Files\MyWay\myBar\1.bin\MYBAR.DLL (file missing)

Please reboot into safe mode - How do I boot into "Safe" mode?.
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):

C:\Program Files\MyWay

Reboot normally and post new log.

I don't see anything other than these minor missing files. What did you do right before is started running really slow? Install new software? Change configurations? Did it run fine and then just get slow overnite?

I have not added anything new that I can think of, I will tell you that I was unable to do a get to a system restore point, and that I could not get to safe mode using the F8 method...I had to use msconfig.

The problem is ongoing and it does not matter what browser I use (IE or FireFox)

Please help me, I beg of you.

I ran the utility and still now change. The other 2 computers on this little network are running equally as lousy. Bell South is still doing some research. Trace Route test results were not so great, but certainly not the worst.

If anyone can think of what else I might try please help.

One good thing out of all this...I had a friend offer to buy me a new computer if I could keep the price under $500. Any suggestions...looked at E machine T3256, what do you think?

Thanks again for all the help this forum is great!!!

Now, if I can only get this to post before giving me another "page cannot be displayed" error I'll be ok.

Any thoughts on the system restore problem?
