Don't worry about those files. Those are normally hidden Windows operating files. They were made visible by the last program we used. We will rehide them when we are finished. Please do not alter or manipulate them in any way.

1. We want to stop, disable and delete an added service (023)

A. To stop a service and set to 'disabled'
  • Go to Start > Run and type in Services.msc then click OK
  • Click the Extended tab.
  • Scroll down until you find the service.
    ===>Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc)
  • Click once on the service to highlight it.
  • Click Stop
  • Right-Click on the service.
  • Click on 'Properties'
  • Select the 'General' tab
  • Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side on the 'Start-up Type' box
  • From the drop-down menu, click on 'Disabled'
  • Click the 'Apply' tab, then click 'OK'
The service is now stopped and disabled.

2. Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

First we need to make all files and folders VISIBLE:

Please RUN HijackThis.
. Click the SCAN button to produce a log.

Place a check mark beside each one of the following items:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://search.search...look=stmpl1&fw=
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 search.netscape.com
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {302A3240-4805-4a34-97D7-1645A0B08410} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [farmmext] C:\WINDOWS\farmmext.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ewutuvq] c:\windows\system32\whkloas.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [etzqxun] c:\windows\system32\rulkdva.exe r
O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm
O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Now with all the items selected, and all windows closed except for HJT, delete them by clicking the FIX checked button. Close the HijackThis window and Reboot Your System in Safe Mode

How to use the F8 method to Start Your Computer in Safe Mode

*Restart the computer.
*as soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
*Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode menu item
*press Enter.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and DELETE them (if they are present):

c:\windows\system32\rulkdva.exe
C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
C:\WINDOWS\farmmext.exe
c:\windows\system32\whkloas.exe
C:\WINDOWS\web<====Folder
C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Exit Explorer, and REBOOT BACK INTO NORMAL MODE

Finally, RUN Hijackthis again and produce a new HJT log. Post it in the forum so we can check how everytjhing looks now.

Regards,

Trevuren

Hi Jessica, I am sorry but the Logo testing stuff is out of my realm of expertize. Once we are finished cleaning up your system. I would recommend you consult another of Geeks forums where they deal with hardware. I do not recommend installing anything until your malware problems are resolve.

1. Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite from: HERE

Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

2. Please download Nailfix.exe from HERE and Save it to your Desktop

* Create a Folder on your Desktop and name it NailFix
* Extract both files from NailFix.zip into this new folder

Please do NOT run it yet.

3. Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see HERE

4. Once in Safe Mode, please open your new NailFix folder and double-click on Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

5. Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.
6. Next run HijackThis, click Scan, and put a check mark beside:

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe

Close all open windows except for HijackThis and click Fix Checked.

7. Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

Regards,

Trevuren

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

Download Killbox here: http://www.downloads...org/KillBox.exe and put it on your desktop

Open Killbox

Check the following boxes:

Standard File Kill
End Explorer Shell While Killing file

Copy & paste the full path of each of the files below into the Killbox topmost box.

c:\windows\system32\qfygyvt.exe
c:\windows\system32\xkhvemh.exe r
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS\npqtplugin4.dll

With the full path to the file name in the topmost textbox, Click the Red X ...and for the confirmation message that will appear, you will need to click Yes

Do this for each of the files listed. Some will not be deleted. Make sure you keep a list of them.

When you are through the list, use killbox to delete the files you were not able to delete as follows:

Open Killbox

Check the following boxes:

Delete on Reboot

With the full path to the file name in the topmost textbox. Click the Red X ...and for the confirmation message that will appear, you will need to click Yes

A second message will ask to Reboot now? you will need to click No (since you are not finished adding all related files in yet)

Click yes on the last file.

Note: Killbox will let you know if the file does not exist.

After the reboot scan with hijackthis and fix the following if they are still listed

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [aruzxvq] c:\windows\system32\xkhvemh.exe r
O12 - Plugin for τε: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS\npqtplugin4.dll

You may have to repeat this whole process 3-5 times before achieving the desired result: Those 2 bad 04 in your HJT log should be gone.

Reboot and Post a new hijackthis log

Regards,

Trevuren

I don't think its working because when I finally say "yes" to rebooting a window comes up that says "PendingFileRenameOperations Registry Data... "

And I'm even more frustated since my bf looked a [bleep] site which download [bleep] to be and some stupid toolbar I can't get rid of.

OK, we will have to scrape away the scum before hitting the big guy.

Print this out please

1. Download Process Explorer from http://www.sysintern...ssExplorer.html

2. Run Process Explorer and find the Process in the list of Processes.

qelozhl.exe

3. Select the process and click Process > Suspend.

4. Then in HijackThis click Config > Misc Tools > Delete a file on reboot...

5. In the explorer Window, locate and select the file c:\windows\system32\qelozhl.exe

6. When prompted if you want to reboot click YES

Leave Process explorer running with the process suspended.

7. After the reboot, check the following items in HijackThis.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dhlxhe] c:\windows\system32\qelozhl.exe r

Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

8. REBOOT your system

9. Finally, run HijackThis, click SCAN, produce a LOG and POST it in this thread for review.

Regards,

Trevuren

Don't worry. It appears to be the kind that morphs on reboot.

1. Run HJT, SCAN and put a checkmark beside the following items (These are hijacking your connections):

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{7886D951-674E-434D-B229-99F2844FCD17}: NameServer = 69.50.188.180,85.255.112.5
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{D367D693-360C-447F-8536-25F24F5DCF99}: NameServer = 69.50.188.180,85.255.112.5

With all windows closed, click Check fixed and EXIT the program.

2. REBOOT your system.

3. Perform this step if you are a home user, not if it is an office machine.

Now lets check some settings on your system.
  • Enter your Control Panel and double-click on Network Connections
  • Then right click on your Default Connection
    • Usually Local Area Connection for Cable and DSL
  • Left click on Properties
  • Double-Click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item
  • Select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS Servers Automatically
  • Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks
4. Make sure to reboot and post back a new HJT log by using Add Reply

* Please click this link to download Silent Runners.
* Save it to the desktop.
* Run Silent Runner's by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" icon on your desktop.
* You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not done yet, just let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
* Once you receive the prompt "All Done!", double-click on the new text file on the desktop and copy that entire log and paste it here.

*NOTE* If you receive any warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.

1. Backup the registry by going to Start>Run> and type "regedit" without the quotes. Then on the file menu choose ‘export’ in XP. Export the file to your Desktop.

If a restore of the registry is required in case of emergency, just click on the exported regfile on your desktop, and answer YES to the question whether you want to merge this file with the registry. Wait until you get a message saying something like Merge Successfull.

2. Launch Notepad, and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into the new document. Save it to your desktop as regfix.regand as "AllFiles" as file type.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"System"=-
"System"=""

3. Locate regfix.reg on your Desktop and double-click on it. You will receive a prompt similar to: "Do you wish to merge the information into the registry?". Answer Yes and wait for a message to appear similar to Merged Successfully.

4. Reboot your computer.

5. Download the RKFiles.zip from here:
http://skads.org/special/rkfiles.zip

Create a new folder called c:\Antispyware\RKFiles
Extract the contents of RKFiles.zip into this new RKFiles folder.

Then,

A. Reboot into Safe Mode

Restart and press the F8 key a few times after the BIOS loads -- the first thing you see when the pc "comes alive" and does its "self test" -- before windows loads).

B. Open the C:\Antispyware\RKFiles folder

* Locate and double-click the RKFILES.BAT to run this tool.
* Sit back and wait untill its finished.
* When it is finaly finished a text file will open.
* Save the contents of that text file.

Note: It should save by default to C:\Log.txt
* Find this log, right-click and rename it RKFiles_log.txt so you can post it later.

C. Reboot back to Normal Mode.

D. Post the log into this thread.

Regards,

Trevuren
