1. Download RUNDLL32.EXE (for Windows 98 & 98SE). Save it to your desktop or a location that you can remember.

2. Go to the location you downloaded the file, right-click it and select COPY.

3. Next, select Start/Run, type C:\WINDOWS in the 'Open' box and press enter.

4. Now right-click in an open area of the Windows folder that opened and select PASTE (be careful not to select a folder).

5. If prompted to overwrite the file, answer Y....YES.

6. You may delete the downloaded file from the desktop or other location.

7. This file is often deleted or corrupted by a virus. Scan your system for viruses free antivirus tools.

<_< HI There.

You are a genius, thank you very much for your help.
Ive just logged in saw your reply, followed your steps 1-7 and hey presto back to normal.
It was so easy to follow your instructions.
Once again thank you so much.
I will recomend your site to all my friends.

Also you suggested a virus could be responsible well i have done a scan with AVG
it has detected. C:\PQSC\CPS\000115\Files\003\0.. startpage DG.

avg cannot move this to the virus vault.

Could this possibly be a problem for me. How bad is this virus?
Do you have any ideas on how i can get rid of it?
As before any suggestion and help would be most appreciated
Once again thank you so much for your help.

Looks like the Badtrans Worm. Have you updated AVG? Trend's Housecall online virus scan should be able to remove.

Hi there.

Once again thanks for the info.
Did as you suggested and ran the trend virus scan.
It came up congratulation no virus.
Am i correct therefore to assume i have no viruses?
If so why does AVG. say it has found startpage dg. and cannot quarantine/or move to virus vault?
By the way AVG is uptodate, i do all the downloads weekly.

thank you for your help.
