First go into "My Computer" right click your hard drive (usually c:\), click properties, and click the "Disk Cleanup" button. Make sure all Temp/Temporary Folders are checked and Clean them up.

Next go in to control panel, add/remove programs and I need you to uninstall any or all of these:

Gain
Gator
GMT
Precision Time
Weather Bug
CashBack
180 Solutions
NaviSearch
Bulls Eye
WebRebates
Common Name
Any other Toolbars/Searchbars you can find.

Let's start with a couple of free programs:
CWShredder is the first to run. Here's why: If a CoolWebSearch variant is indeed running on your system, it may actually prevent you from running spyware scans. It is smart enough to detect efforts to detect it, and stop them. Download CWShredder to your desktop or other location. Close all browser windows, double click the CWShredder icon to run, then click the Fix -> button. When finished, reboot and run Spybot Search & Destroy.

Spybot Search & Destroy Download and install. Start Spybot S&D using the "Spybot-S&D (easy mode)" link from your Start menu . Click the Search for updates button, if any are found then click the Download Updates button. After all updates are downloaded, click the Check for problems button. When the scan is complete, place a check next to anything marked in red, then click the Fix selected problems button. You may need to run Spybot S&D multiple times to remove all infections.

Reboot.

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked. All these entries may not be here anymore after these scans, just remove the ones you can find.

Found a thread on how to fix this entry.

http://www.ozzu.com/...ic33047-15.html

Make sure you run HJThis with the same instructions as before... and take out that entry.

I copied and pasted the instructions from the above post.

Open Notepad and copy this text into it.
Code:
REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\{FB74C951-ACA1-4e33-A94C-A9261EB2CCB7}]
"Exec"="https://www.spydelet....php?KBID=1062"

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\{FB74C951-ACA1-4e33-A94C-A9261EB2CCB7}]

[-HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-757298511-2304659736-1445258045-1005\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\CmdMapping]
"{FB74C951-ACA1-4e33-A94C-A9261EB2CCB7}"=dword:00002001

Save the file as remove.reg and Save As Type: All Files.

Go to Start -> Run -> type %temp%
Completely delete the entire contents of this folder.

Locate remove.reg where you saved it.
Double-click on it and click OK when it asks you to merge to the registry.

Clean out your temp files.

Restart the computer normally run HijackThis again and post a fresh log.

i appreciate all your help but i'm not doing very good. need answers to a few questions. was it intended when i ran %temp% for me to delete all the folders that appeared in the temp folder (75 or so)? it wouldnt delete four of them saying they were in use, which wasnt true. anyway, then when i tried to merge to the registry, the registry editor said it cant import c:\remove.reg--not a registry script. can only import binary registry files from within the registry editor. anyway, here's my log. please help. thank you

To remove spydeleter O9 entries: Open notepad, and copy and paste the contents of the quote box below into a new text file.

Save it as file name: "fixme.reg" (not including the quotes). Save as file type: *All files* and save it on your Desktop.

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\{FB74C951-ACA1-4e33-A94C-A9261EB2CCB7}]

Then, locate fixme.reg on your desktop and double-click it.
You will receive a prompt similar to: "Do you wish to merge the information into the registry?".
Answer 'Yes' and wait for a message to appear similar to "Merged Successfully".

You can delete fixme.reg when finished. Reboot and post a fresh log.

Click Here to download TheKillbox. Extract TheKillBox.exe from the zip file and double click it to open it up. In the 'Enter Full Path and Filename to Delete' box, copy and paste these entries one by one, clicking 'Find and Kill This File' after each one:

C:\avg6732fu_free.rar.exe

Click 'Exit' when done.

Note: If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run TheKillbox, download and run: http://www.javacools...ngfilesetup.exe. Then try TheKillbox again.

thanks for the killbox. it said it killed it successfully, but it reappeared the next time i ran the avg antivirus test. it warns of a hidden extension but is able to heal it, but it keeps coming back. Also, still present were the following:

Trojan horse Downloader.Istbar.4.BC in C:\Documents and settings\local settings\TEMP\FKDUCCQ.EXE and in TEMP\FURYAGS.EXE

Trojan horse Downloader Dyfica.2.AQ in C:\Documents and settings\Internet Optimizer\OPTIMIZER.EXE

when i tried killbox on these, it said the files didnt exist.

My avg antivirus finds 4 viruses, moves 2 to the vault and 2 are healed, but then they keep reappearing. thank you for your help.

Try this:
To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.

1. Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Thank you. I went through the process with the system restore and then ran the avg scan and this time it was better i.e. it only showed one virus (instead of 4) as follows:

C:\SUBMIT\10.19.2004\AVG6732fu_free.rar.exe It says warning hidden extension.exe and says that its healed okay.

Please advise. Thank you

I finally decided to uninstall the avg program, deleting all that was related to it and reinstalled it again. When I ran my new avg scan, it detected no viruses. So, for now, I guess I'm clean. Thanks for everyones help.

Congratulations! Your system is CLEAN <_<

How do you prevent spyware from being installed again? We strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster (it's free for personal use) Click Here.

Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Consumes no system resources.

Download, run, check for updates, download updates, select all, protect against checked. All done. Check for updates every couple of weeks. If you have any errors running the program like a missing file see the link at the bottom of the javacool page.

It's also very important to keep your system up to date to avoid unnecessary security risks. Click Here to make sure that you have the latest patches for Windows.

These next two steps are optional, but will provide the greatest protection.
1. Use ANY browser besides Internet Explorer, almost every exploit is crafted to take advantage of an IE weakness. We usually recommend FireFox Posted Image.
2. Install Sun's Java. It's much more secure than Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine .

It's okay to delete the Hijack This folder if everything is working okay.

After doing all these, your system will be thoroughly protected from future threats. :D
