Hi,
Here's my hijackthis log....below this log is my Ewido log. The Ewido scan was created prior to the Hijackthis log.

I am currently running 3 antivirus protections....Ewido, SpywareBlaster, and Microsofts AntiSpyware program. Is this a good idea to run all 3? Or should I run only 1 of these. If only one, which should I use? Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi jbewely. Welcome to GTG. Sorry you were overlooked the first time out of the gate. :tazz:

Please run a new hijack this log and post it in this thread. Did you download the 14-day trial of Ewido? If so, it may be too late to use it for this fix. If not, please rerun it and post the results of that log also.

There are quite a few programs available that offer protection features to help keep a computer from getting infected. While this is normally a helpful feature, it can keep a victim from making the changes necessary to clean their comptuer. Please read the following and uninstall or disable those that apply to your machine.

These programs need to be uninstalled

AdWatch

These programs can just be disabled

Microsoft Antispyware
TeaTimer
SpySweeper
Win Patrol
Spyware Guard
PSGuard
Pestpatrol
Regrun
Diamonds Process controller

Please download CleanUp! - Download - HomePage

Don't run it yet.

Please Download CoolWebShredder, from http://castlecops.co...s-file-349.html
Extract it & run the program. Click the Next Button & let it scan. Make sure you let it fix all CWS Remnants.

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [sp] rundll32 C:\DOCUME~1\JOHNBE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\se.dll,DllInstall

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):

C:\WINDOWS\atlwj32.exe
[sp] rundll32
C:\DOCUME~1\JOHNBE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\se.dll,DllInstall

Use Windows Search for "se.dll" -> look for "se.dll" -> delete "se.dll".

Click on the button labeled CleanUp!.

When it finishes it will prompt you to restart Windows - there will be one or two files it cannot delete when Windows is running - however, they will be deleted next time Windows starts up.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. :tazz:

OK....thanks again....so the yahoo screen no longer displays, and I was able to get rid of the Warning! You're in danger screen with an Ad Aware scan.....but Ad Aware still finds several CoolWebSearch registry entries and Microsofts Anti Spy still finds the SearchExtender problem. Hope we can get these pests.

* Please click this link to download Silent Runners.
* Save it to the desktop.
* Run Silent Runner's by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" icon on your desktop.
* You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not done yet, just let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
* Once you receive the prompt "All Done!", double-click on the new text file on the desktop and copy that entire log and paste it here.

*NOTE* If you receive any warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):

C:\DOCUME~1\JOHNBE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\se.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\gppn.dll

Reboot and run silent runners again.
