I am posting a HJT log. Something has my system to the point where spybot, adware, etc., can't complete the job. Many problems to fix but just stalls at the point of fixing or deleting. Can you take some time to help? I am most grateful. I would also like to know what general actions creates such problems like this. My system has been pretty clean for a long time until just recently (last two weeks). My teens have been online (mostly IM) nonstop - can that have much to do with everything?

Hello myasam, welcome to Geeks to Go! I’m Kristy and I will be helping you.

There are many different ways to get problems like this. You can get them from going to a malicious website, clicking on a link in an instant message, downloads, etc.

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Next please run HijackThis, click Scan, and check:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {016235BE-59D4-4CEB-ADD5-E2378282A1D9} - C:\PROGRAM FILES\APRPS\PLG0\CXTPLS.DLL
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [sZ7A5JYIW] C:\HPVNOLD.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AutoUpdater] "c:\Program Files\AutoUpdate\AutoUpdate.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [version] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ZHQTIC.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [secure] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\PCVTNQ.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [u11qojhk] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\u11qojhk.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [q4rk3nh] QCAMIXER.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IST Service] \ISTsvc\istsvc.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [b30qRhN5P] PXMDMOE.EXE
O4 - Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE

Close all open windows except for HijackThis and click Fix Checked.

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove the following(if found):

AutoUpdaye
IST Service or ISTsvc

Exit Add/Remove Programs.

Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files/folders in bold (if found):

C:\HPVNOLD.EXE
c:\Program Files\AutoUpdate
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ZHQTIC.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\PCVTNQ.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\u11qojhk.exe
C:\Program Files\ISTsvc

Empty your recycle bin, and reboot normally.

Please run a free online virus scan here (tick the "Auto Clean" checkbox):
http://housecall.antivirus.com/

And a free trojan scan here:
http://www.moosoft.com/

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. ;)
