I cant install windows xp sata not detected

:tazz: ;) ;) GUD day.. I would just like to ask help from the experts.
my mobo is asus p4v800x and i have a new sata hd. the xp installation went through but it says "can't continue, no hard drive", why is that happening? and how should i install windows xp? and my mobo cant detect my hd... pls HELP.... THANKS....

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go. You need to put the SATA drivers on a floppy disk. During windows install, you will be prompted to install 3rd party drivers by pressing F6. At that point, press f6 and insert the floppy into drive a and load the drivers.

thank u sir... but i dont know what to copy to the floppy disk. i downloaded the via raid cntroller driver.. thanks again

Your motherboard should have came with the disks for your board, if not you get the right ones from the manufacturers website.
